The first meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Cartagena
Protocol on Biosafety was held in Montpellier, France, from 11 to 15
December 2000 at the kind invitation of the Government of France and with
additional financial support from the Governments of Denmark, Finland,
France, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the
United Kingdom.
